Goodbye Windsor! Hello Paycut!

Well, I got a job offer. I don't have to reach any decisions until tomorrow, but it looks like I'm going to take it. It's for a regional park district in the southern Denver suburbs. I'll be heading up their new GIS department... Now, you may ask, what kind of planning will you be doing in that position? I refuse to answer that question.

Anyway, it sounds pretty good, but doesn't pay quite what I'm getting paid now to sit on my butt. That said, if I take it, I have a place lined up near DU and that's a pretty awesome neighborhood. So I'm assuming I'll know my decision tomorrow and have put in my two weeks... I'll let you know how that goes. I suspect my insane boss may fire me on the spot.

Yay! Paycut Shmaycut. The effects of beer come cheaper when you don't have to counteract all that bs anyway!

Well I put in my two weeks notice today! My immediate boss was cool, though he didn't know what we were supposed to do next. Joe was not happy when he found out.

Anyway, I'm a free man for a few days! Then I get to become an indentured servant at my brother-in-law's rental house.

Congratulations! We all knew you would end up working with GIS...pulling Bloomstroms left and right. Alan will be proud.

I agree with Kristen...Shmaycut. PBR aint so bad anyway...is it?

Congrats! Now I'll feel like I don't know you any more. We had that Windsor connection; I knew where you worked, how your office was laid out, and even the personalities of the people you worked with.

I recently started working a bit with Arc 9.2, man it's amazing how much you can forget in 12 months. Since you'll have GIS open on your computer all day I'll put you on speed dial for when I have simple GIS questions like how to create a shape file.

Good luck and enjoy the big city life

Yeah, my GIS memories are starting to rust a little bit. Give me a week or two before you put me on speed dial! Especially if I'm hitting the PBR.

Derek, I'm sure Windsor would take you if you asked them! You'd have to get a full lobotomy to tolerate it, but on the bright side you'd still be over qualified!

Congratulations Matt! Maybe in your days off before the new gig begins you can become hooked on Oprah, too. I could really use someone to swap Dr. Oz notes with (hee, hee)!!!

Congrats on the new job! Next time you are back in the greater Iowa area, let us know. Jill and I are always looking for excuses to go out for a drink.
